Top 10 Upcoming Mindless Zombie Movies 2013

As a movie fanatic, It's our oath to watch movies of every genre and languages. Even if it is some B-rated Undead flicks, whether it be scary, gory, bloody or funny. 2013 is already looking promising in the Zombie Movie section. "World War Z (2013)" and "Warm Bodies (2013)" are two upcoming zombie movies that I know I will be seeing when they come out are slated for release. No less than two dozen zombie films are planned for the 2013 year, so stock your provisions and board up your windows as we take a look at a few of the movies set to shamble their way to the big screen.



10. Epitaph: Bread and Salt (2013)

From the director of "The Wait (2006)" and "Wages of Sin (2007)", "Epitaph: Bread and Salt" is a Sci-fi zombie-horror film based on the comic book created by Nathyn Masters. It is directed, written and acted by Nathyn Masters himself. The plot set around a family of Estrie hunters, unite with a demon hunter to destroy a union of dark cults and their demonic companions.

Indywood Films's "Invasion of the Not Quite Dead" is an upcoming zombie horror-comedy film directed and written by Antony D. Lane who is yet to release his first film. It stars Andrew Ellis as Nicolas , Ajay Nayyar as Blade and Frank Jakeman as Sam Peterson. The plot is set in 1978 a deadly virus is contained... Thirty years later the virus is released on an unsuspecting island off the coast of England in this very unique take on the Zombie genre.


8. Silent Night of the Living Dead (2013)

The Lords of Salem is a horror film written, produced and directed by Rob Zombie, and starring his wife Sheri Moon Zombie. It is about the city of Salem, Massachusetts, being visited by a coven of ancient witches. The film started shooting on October 17, 2011 and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2012. Rob Zombie's novelization of The Lords of Salem was released on March 12, 2013, with the film having a limited release on April 19, 2013.


7. I Walked with a Zombie (2013)

"I Walked with a Zombie" is an upcoming remake of 1943 of the same name. It is directed and written by Adam Marcus who also wrote the story for "Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013)" . "I Walked with a Zombie" is still in pre-production and lead roles are not yet announced. The story revolves around a teacher who comes to homeschool, children on a mysterious plantation, but soon finds herself trapped.


6. Zombie Hunter (2013)

Arrowstorm Entertainment's "Zombie Hunter" follows one man, Hunter, who has nothing left but a beat-up camera and a trunk full of guns and booze. He runs down flesh eaters, hunting them for sport and redemption from his tortured past. K. King is making his writing and directing debut with Zombie Hunter, a horror-action film. It stars Martin Copping as Zombie Hunter, Danny Trejo as Jesús and Clare Niederpruem as Alison.


5. Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D (2013)

"Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D" is an upcoming 3D animated horror remake of the 1990 version of the same name. It is written and directed by Zebediah De Soto and starring Starring Tony Todd, Danielle Harris, Tom Sizemore, Joe Pilato, Bill Moseley, Michael Diskint,Erin Braswell and Jesse Corti. The film is a re-telling of the original film, set in New York City rather than rural Pennsylvania. Both Todd and Moseley would be reprising their roles as Ben and Johnny, respectively, from the 1990 version of the film.

"The 4th Reich" is an upcoming zombie horror/action film directed and written by Shaun Robert Smith and starring Sean Bean, Sean Pertwee, Doug Bradley, Craig Conway and Tom Savini. The story sounds quite interesting. Let's see how well it works with audience.


3. R.I.P.D. (2013)

Universal Pictures's R.I.P.D. is an action comedy film starring Ryan Reynolds as Nick Walker, Jeff Bridges as Roy Pulsipher, Kevin Bacon as Bobby Hayes and Mary-Louise Parker as Procter (Jodie Foster was considered for the role of Procter) .It is directed by "RED (2010)" Robert Schwentke and based on the comic book "Rest In Peace Department" by Peter M. Lenkov. This film focuses on a recently slain young cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest In Peace Department and tries to find the man who killed him. Zach Galifianakis was supposed cast as Roy Pulsipher, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

Summit Entertainment's "Warm Bodies" is an upcoming romantic zombie comedy film directed and written by " 50/50 (2011) " Jonathan Levine. It is based on Isaac Marion's popular novel of the same name. The film stars Nicholas Hoult, John Malkovich and Teresa Palmer. This film focuses on the growth of the relationship between Julie (a teenage girl) and R (a zombie) and how their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world. I don't know much about the entire storyline because i haven't read the novel. But it seems like a new version of "Twilight".

Paramount Pictures's "World War Z" is one of the most anticipated post-apocalyptic horror film based on the novel of "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War" by Max Brooks. It is directed by "Quantum of Solace" Marc Forster and written by Matthew Michael Carnahan. The story revolves around a U.N. An employee who is racing against time and fate, as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly Zombie pandemic.The initial trailer seems serious outbreak of undead with larger than life CGI work. A definite action-zombie world war movie to look forward to in 2013.
